Tips For Organizing Your Spices

Tips For Organizing Spices

One of the main sources of frustration in the kitchen is locating and identifying spices.

Is there a best way to organize spices so you can easily identify and quickly reach for them when you’re in the middle of preparing a meal?

There’s a lot to consider including your space limitations, the number of spices you have in regular rotation, the variety of spice containers you already have, the amount of time you’re willing to dedicate to sorting and organizing and  to what degree you’d like your spice collection to resemble a pinterest page.

There are numerous ways to organize spices.

If you’re more of a creative and visual type, you may decide to display spices on the wall next to the stove in a mixed array of colourful containers.

If you’re a minimalist, you’re more likely to keep spices in a cupboard in uniformly sized jars.

If you’re very pragmatic (like me) you may choose to keep spices colour-coded for type in a drawer next to the stove.

In this video, I share a few tips that I hope will help you organize your spices for efficiency and aesthetics.

Quickly & Easily Put On A Duvet Cover

I created this short video to show you that putting on a duvet cover can be done quickly and easily without a struggle.

The best part is, the whole process takes less than 2 minutes and can be done without assistance.

Sometimes we put off doing things because we think it’s a nuisance or will take too long.

If a task can be accomplished in 2 minutes of less, it’s worth doing without hesitation. The sense of accomplishment you’ll feel will likely motivate you to keep going and moving on to other quick little tasks.

One task builds on the next and before you know it, you’ve done more in a short period of time than you thought was possible!

The key to staying organized is maintenance. I hope this video will inspire a small action step you can take to maintaining your organized home environment.

How To Fold A Fitted Sheet In 1 Minute

Folding a fitted sheet can be tricky and frustrating.

In this video tutorial, I will show you how to quickly wrangle a crumpled mess of a sheet and have it looking as tidy as the day it came out of its packaging in less than a minute.

Transcript below:

In this video I’m going to show you how to fold a fitted sheet.

So, you have the elasticized areas on top, and it’s right-side out.

So what I’m going to do is

take this corner and flip it inside out

and I’m going to place it into the corner of this one here.

That’s half.

Now, I’m going to do the same thing with this corner here.

I’m going to take this corner, place it inside out and place it into this corner here.

Now we have two corners and what we’ll want to do now is

gather it all together and place it into one (corner).

So again, I’m going to grab it, pinch it, hold it with one hand here on this end

while I flip the entire thing.

I’ll quickly give it a shake, place it down on your surface, and…

We’ll want to start folding it in by placing this scrunchy area in toward the center.

So, I’m going to actually fold it into thirds.

I’m flipping it into thirds, and then I’m flipping it over again

And then again, the puffy area will go toward the middle, and it’ll go one third in,

and then two thirds, and it’s done!

There you have it.

Nice and tidy!
